How does car hire pickup work at Dalaman Airport?

After you land at Dalaman Airport and leave the arrivals hall, walk to the car park, where our staff meet you and introduce your car. Because you add your flight number when you book, we track your arrival and wait if the flight is delayed, so you do not lose your car after a late landing.

At the handover you show your documents, check the car with our staff, sign the rental agreement and pay us directly. We also take a deposit at pick-up; the amount is shown on each car.

What do I need to collect a rental car at Dalaman Airport?

You need a valid driving licence, usually held for at least two years, plus your passport or ID card, and you must be at least 21 for most cars. Bring a credit or debit card in the main driver's name, as we take a deposit at pick-up. If your licence is not in the Latin alphabet, carry an International Driving Permit as well.

Which car should I rent at Dalaman Airport?

Choose the smallest car that fits your luggage: economy cars such as the Renault Clio, Fiat Egea or Dacia Sandero handle the D400 and narrow resort streets easily. An automatic Hyundai i20 suits drivers who are not used to manual gears on hills.

Families often pick an SUV such as the Dacia Duster, Hyundai Bayon, Peugeot 2008 or Nissan Qashqai, or the 7-seat Dacia Jogger. Larger groups and golf or diving bags fit in a Fiat Doblò, Citroën Berlingo or the 9-seat Hyundai Staria. You book a model; a similar car of the same class may be provided.

Where can I drive from Dalaman Airport?

The airport sits just off the D400, the main coastal highway of south-west Türkiye, so every resort on this coast is a straightforward drive. Head east for Göcek (about 25 km), Fethiye (about 55 km), Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz (about 62–65 km); head west for Sarıgerme (about 20 km), Dalyan (about 30 km) and Marmaris (about 95 km).

Going east, the D400 passes through the Göcek tunnel, which charges a toll in both directions; the free alternative is the older, winding road over the Göcek hill. There are fuel stations on the D400 within a few minutes of the airport junction.

Can I return the car somewhere other than Dalaman Airport?

Yes, one-way rentals are possible: you can pick up at the airport and drop off in Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü, Göcek, Dalyan, Sarıgerme or Marmaris, or the other way round. Choose a different drop-off place in step one and the price shown includes it.
